#1: The obvious – Confidence and progression

If you are like myself and watch practically every single game, you know we have not seen Garland’s full potential on display just yet. From the hesitation on three-point shots he should be shooting 100 percent of the time to the sloppy turnovers, the growing pains for the rookie are real.

Despite those growing pains, one more thing is clear: he is improving and gaining confidence. Garland is consistent from the free throw line, has cut down the turnovers and now has that field goal percentage back above 40.0 percent.

Remember, Garland is young. Being 20 years old, he is going to struggle. If you think back, Garland hit a groove in early January, as KJG’s Amadou Sow highlighted. In December, Garland shot the ball at a solid mark of 42.8 percent, as indicated by NBA.com.

Amongst the scoring numbers jumping along with field goal percentage, the turnover numbers were low as well, and in his last 10 games active, Garland has shot 44.1 percent and averaged just 1.8 giveaways per game.

As the rookie continues to expand his game and become more and more confident and consistent, the Cavaliers will be better as a unit.
