Power Forward: Kevin Love

Love’s stint with the Cleveland Cavaliers has been up and down and this year, it seemed as if it was all crashing down. Kevin Love and the Cavaliers have been in headlines this year for the wrong reasons as Love has reportedly voiced his frustrations with the team and shown that on the floor/on the bench on multiple occasions, as KJG’s Dan Gilinsky touched on earlier this year.

For a good part of the year, it looked as if this would be Love’s last season as a Cavalier.

Despite this, it looks as if Love’s relationship with the Cavs has improved and it seems as if he won’t be going anywhere anytime soon. Due to the NBA’s season suspension, the NBA has lost out on a lot of revenue and we currently do not know just how much the NBA has lost.

Considering this, teams will be more hesitant to take on huge contracts due to the uncertainty of the cap number. Also, teams look to be saving money for the 2021 free agency class so this is another reason as to why a trade doesn’t seem likely.

Lastly, according to the aforementioned Fedor, they would have to be getting a huge haul for a trade to happen, and Fedor said how Cleveland still views Love as “a valuable piece,” and one that “threads the needle between their present and future.”

At this point, it may be better for the Cavs to just keep Love as he would be a viable option for this offense. It also seems that he has formed a connection with the young players and keeping Love around would not only help to maintain stability in the franchise but, it would help to improve the chemistry between the team as all of the notable players on the team have played with each other for multiple years now.
