The rationale for KPJ’s overall 2019-20 grade thus far of a B

Porter has again shown plenty of flashes of big-time potential on both ends for the Cleveland Cavaliers thus far in the 2019-20 season, which may or may not play out at some point down the road to at least some extent.

The key for KPJ, though, is can he hit pull-ups more and fit more into the team scope on a game-to-game basis on the defensive end? His cutting and passing feel had been trending in the right direction leading into the NBA’s season suspension, and with his already proven finishing prowess, this kid’s ceiling would appear to be sky-high.

I’d imagine that he’ll get more than 23.2 minutes per game next season and/or going forward, too, because he can affect games in a plethora of ways, even as such a young player.

I just hope that Porter can stay healthy in coming years. Thus far in his rookie season, he missed a 10-game stretch in January due to a left knee sprain, and those previously mentioned three games due to a concussion leading into the hiatus.

Anyhow, it’s evident that Porter has star potential as a two-way player for the Wine and Gold, but he’s far from a finished product. Either way, a B grade for KPJ thus far seems fair.

On a positive note, this kid has barely scratched the surface in relation to what he could become, and his teammates and the organization are well-aware of that.
