Here, we’ll be going through my third and final batch of revisiting my 2019-20 statistics predictions, factoring in key rotation players for the majority of the current season leading into the NBA season’s suspension. This go-round, I figured I’d look back at my statistics predictions for Kevin Porter Jr., Larry Nance Jr. and Matthew Dellavedova.

The current NBA season for the Cleveland Cavaliers and other teams is on hiatus until further notice, given concerns regarding the novel coronavirus pandemic and social distancing induced by COVID-19.

At this juncture, it’s uncertain if the 2019-20 season will resume at some point, though it seems like a high possibility of if more regular season games were to be played, a good chunk remaining could be cancelled, given previous reports.

In a potential scenario involving game cancellations essentially due to “catastrophic circumstances,” according to a report from ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, due to the “force majeure” provision in the collective bargaining agreement that’d be triggered, players would lose “approximately 1% of salary per canceled game,” so we’ll see.

The league is also considering from a postseason standpoint seemingly factored into potential regular season games being played at less locations to not be as much at risk of spreading/contracting COVID-19, to have games in just one location in Las Vegas, the key location for NBA Summer League, per Sports Illustrated‘s Chris Mannix. Mannix touched on how a “traditional postseason” for the league is basically out this go-round.

Granted, in terms of even this possibility, Mannix also noted how though nothing is “formalized,” that if that were the case, first-round series’ would be best-of-five, there’d be a “one-and-done” case for the following two rounds, and then the Finals would be best-of-five, too. Again, this is not at all a certainty.

On a positive note for Cavs fans, while the club is only 19-46 on the 2019-20 season at this point and will definitely not be in a postseason down the road this year, the squad has seemingly taken to head coach J.B. Bickerstaff. He took over after the All-Star break.

In the stretch from then leading into the NBA’s season suspension on March 11, Cleveland was 5-6 under Bickerstaff, and the Cavs were 10th in the Association in effective field goal shooting, as indicated by NBA.com. The Wine and Gold were sixth in the NBA in assist rate as well.

So again, with the league currently on hiatus, I figured I’d look back at my statistics predictions for regular rotation players that were on the roster before the season.

Earlier this week, I revisited my predictions for Darius Garland and Collin Sexton, and then revisited my predictions for Cedi Osman, Kevin Love and Tristan Thompson, and looked at where I’ve been off the mark and where I’ve hit thus far.

Next up, I’ll revisit my 2019-20 statistics predictions for Kevin Porter Jr., Larry Nance Jr. and Matthew Dellavedova, and begin with KPJ.
