3 under-the-radar bigs for Cavs to target in the 2021 NBA Draft
By Corey Casey
#1: Isaiah Mobley – USC
Isaiah Mobley is the older brother of fellow top three recruit and projected top three pick Evan Mobley.
Isaiah isn’t quite at his brother Evan’s talent level, but he’s still a solid option later on in likely the 2021 NBA Draft after what would be two seasons at USC.
Mobley stands at 6-foot-9 and is 220 pounds, as referenced by 247 Sports, and when you watch the older Mobley, he’s a good athlete who is a very effective ball-handler for a big man. That enables him to beat defenders off the dribble and he can beat them in transition as well.
Mobley is also someone who can face up and shoot it from outside the paint and has shown he can consistently make shots from the mid-range area.
Assuming the Cleveland Cavaliers would keep Love, Mobley would easily be the Cavs’ second best and most skilled big man after Love the way things stand right now.
Mobley, who will be playing alongside his brother in Isaiah’s sophomore season, per the Los Angeles Times’ Ryan Kartje, again, would add plenty of skill to Cleveland’s big rotation in a few years. Anyhow, in the 2021 NBA Draft, maybe the Cavaliers could have a shot at Mobley.
Now on to under-the-radar target #2.
