#2 pick – Anthony Edwards, Georgia, SG

Anthony Edwards could very easily be the number one overall pick in the 2020 NBA Draft. The 247 Sports Composite rankings had him as the number two overall player in the 2019 high school class.

Edwards is an impressively built shooting guard. He is 6’5” tall and weighs in at 215 pounds. He is an impressive scorer that could challenge 25 points per game during his freshman season at the University of Georgia.

Drafting Edwards with the number two pick in the 2020 NBA Draft, should the land there, would be a grand-slam for the Cavaliers. They would allow head coach John Beilein to use his excellent guard development skills to develop the best prospect he’s ever coached.

Edwards is a powerful two-guard that scores from all three levels of the floor at an elite level. Edwards has a little bit of LeBron James in his game in the sense of when he gets rolling down-hill, attacking the rim, he is a load to stop because of his strength and athleticism.

Moving forward with a Garland and Edwards backcourt would be exciting for Cavaliers’ fans. After a couple of years of growth, they could turn into one of the best backcourts in the NBA.
