#3: Which (if any) current players initially come to mind as potential Wall of Honor candidates?

Golonka:

With the youngsters still trying to prove themselves, I have to pick Matthew Dellavedova. His role in the 2016 NBA Finals victory and true grit defending Stephen Curry will never be forgotten by Cavs fans.

Friedman:

The only name that comes to mind on the roster is Kevin Love. There’s the chance that one day Collin Sexton, Larry Nance Jr. or any of the rookies could eventually find themselves in that position, but that is a ways away.

DiPaola:

If we’re limiting this to players just on the Cavaliers now, I would say I only see Kevin Love, and possibly Tristan Thompson. But if this counts as players that are currently in the NBA, I would say aside from the obvious (LeBron, Kyrie) that a guy like J.R. Smith, who turned his career around with the Wine and Gold, and was a key piece of their championship team.

Casey:

Kevin Love and Tristan Thompson. Love is the last remaining member of the previous Big Three, and during the runs to the NBA Finals was much maligned.

He made so many sacrifices so everything would fit and to give the team the best shot to finally get that championship. The Cleveland Cavaliers wouldn’t have won the 2016 NBA Finals without Thompson, either, though.

He played huge on the glass then, and his ability to switch and defend on the perimeter will never be forgotten then.

Marling:

The obvious current players to add to the Wall would be LeBron, Kyrie, Love, and an argument could be made for Tristan Thompson, who has been an incredible rebounder, and was an instrumental player in the franchise’s only title.
