On Wednesday, the Cleveland Cavaliers released throwback/classic uniforms from the 1990’s, and though their concept isn’t entirely new, they are quite the sight, and would make for a heck of a gift.

The Cleveland Cavaliers and their fans know very well that the Cavs’ orange, black and powder blue color combination was as good as it gets for jerseys.

Meaning no disrespect to the history of the Wine and Gold combination for the team’s jersey for a while now, and in the beginning of the franchise in the 1970’s, the team got it right here with them bringing back their 90’s colors for a “Classic” uniform that they released on Wednesday, and this plays right into the will-be newly-renovated Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse.

These jerseys, which were debuted by Darius Garland and Larry Nance Jr. in a photo shoot, are going to be awesome to see the team wear in the upcoming 2019-20 season, and again, would make for an amazing gift, too (photos courtesy of the Cavs’ Twitter).

Along with the photos of Nance and Garland, you can also view the full gallery of the jerseys featured, again, per the Cleveland Cavaliers’ Twitter, here.

The Cavaliers wore mostly similar jerseys first in the 1994-95 season, as Fox 8’s Jen Steer noted, so they are not necessarily new, but again, these uniforms are pretty darn cool, and they bring back memories of players such as, as Steer noted, Mark Price and Chris Mills, along with the likes of Shawn Kemp and Wesley Person, among others, later on.

So when will Nance and the Cleveland Cavaliers be wearing these uniforms next season, you ask?

More from King James Gospel

In Cleveland’s home opener on Oct. 26 against the Indiana Pacers, they’ll be sporting them the first time of the 2019-20 season, and per the team (where you can also find purchasing information) and h/t Steer, they’ll be wearing the 90’s Classic uniforms seven other times during the season.

Along with those awesome uniforms, the Cavaliers’ court during the games where they’ll be rocking those will be in the 90’s-type style as well, per the team, and as you can see, a 50th season court is shown, too, per the team’s Twitter.

When it comes to the releasing of the uniforms, it was really cool to see Nance featured, as he’s one of Cleveland’s best players currently, and with the way he’s seemed to really embrace the historical connection with his dad, Larry Nance, who is one of the best players in team history, it was a great way to get the word out about the squads’ threads coming in 2019-20.

Nance Jr. is fresh off a career season in 2018-19, where he posted career-bests in points (9.4), rebounds (8.2), assists (3.2) and steals (1.5) per game (per Basketball Reference), and he emerged as one of the Cavs’ primary leaders as well.

I would expect him to continue to have a prominent role in coming years for the Cavs, and I would think he’ll eventually be a starter more often.

It was also good to see that Garland was featured by the team alongside Nance, as he’ll likely be one of the team’s key players for a long time as perhaps their primary playmaker and/or scorer of the future, and he was the fifth overall selection by the Cavaliers in the 2019 NBA Draft.

So, anyhow, I’ll probably go with a Cedi Osman 90’s jersey first, but that’s a tough call.

Which throwback 90’s uniform are you going to snag of current players, Cavs fans?
