2019-20 predictions for Knight: 6.2 PPG on 52.3% true shooting, 1.7 APG, 16.7 MPG and 22 games active

Knight is a player that’s not nearly able to explode the way he used to off-the-bounce, but he’s still a capable scorer when given chances to operate in the pick-and-roll in the mid-range area and can hit three-point shots at a respectable clip, off-the-catch, especially (a career 35.4% shooter from there, per Basketball Reference).

While I could potentially see Beilein and the organization wanting to keep him around through the deadline, I don’t see them just benching him mostly as the opening quarter of the season or so concludes.

He’ll probably get some run in the opening part of the 2019-20 year, but Knight is not nearly the scorer anymore Clarkson is, and he’s a liability defensively, though of course, injuries have some to do with that.

Nonetheless, Knight is a very capable three-point shooter off-the-catch, seems to be a really good teammate and can provide a team looking to offload a bad contract with a suitable rotational playmaker, and he did show something in his games played offensively with Cleveland last year, as he averaged 8.6 points and 2.3 assists in 22.9 minutes per game (per Basketball Reference).

Taking that into account, too, him potentially being involved in a three-way deal (also maybe with Henson involved) seems reasonable, in particular, if an interested team/teams are combo guard-needy and are willing to part with two future second-round picks down the road that they may deal away anyway.

I could feasibly see a possible postseason team going for him on an expiring deal, and the Cavs need to let youngsters play a bunch.
