3 players Cavs could maybe target in 2nd round if they purchase a pick

Louis King
Oregon’s Louis King is a player that could possibly develop into one of the better players on the Cleveland Cavaliers. He does need to fill out his frame, as he’s listed at 6-foot-7 and just 195 pounds (per NBA.com), but King has impressive skill with the ball in his hands as a scorer.
He averaged 13.5 points per game on 52.2% effective field goal shooting, in addition to having 5.5 rebounds per contest. As a talented wing that can definitely be a floor-spacer right away with a fluid stroke and high release point (as evidenced by him shooting 38.6% from three-point land), King would be a welcomed addition to Beilein’s rotation in the coming years, and potentially as a starter at the 2 or 3 (whether or not Osman plays the other).
King has shown he can create for himself some as well, and I would think that the presence of Collin Sexton’s speed and Kevin Love‘s inside-out scoring (along with good passing vision) could greatly benefit King on the perimeter, where he could flourish as a shooter in Beilein’s space-oriented offense.
King has dealt with injuries since his high school, as he reportedly dealt with a meniscus tear during his senior year, and had minor hand and ankle issues at Oregon (h/t James Crepea of The Oregonian), and that could play into him potentially falling to the late first-early second round, according to ESPN’s Mike Schmitz (again, h/t Crepea).
Factoring that into consideration, along with King seemingly being a non-passer (as evidenced by him posting just 1.7 assists per 40 minutes) and not showing much as a secondary playmaker overall, he’ll need to develop some to be a starter, and his defense left plenty to be desired, but I would think his potential as a shooter on the wing is something Altman and the Cavs would love to have in their rotation in the coming years.
The former five-star talent just seems to need some fine-tuning, but there’s plenty to like, and if Cleveland can purchase an early pick in the second round for King or maybe trade away their 2020 second acquired from the Utah Jazz, they should absolutely consider it.
