Cleveland Cavaliers: Prioritizing the SG/SF situation
5. Deng Adel
Deng Adel was picked up in January and immediately signed to a two-way deal. After not seeing time in his first two games with the team, Adel was given minimal play. By his sixth game with the Wine and Gold, Adel had earned at least ten minutes on the court.
Adel has become a regular in the starting lineup, at least for the last three games. During this time, he’s been less than stellar, to be brutally honest.
The reason I’d rank Adel over Blossomgame in terms of priority is solely based on the fact that the team has already seen a good deal of Blossomgame whereas they haven’t with Adel. It makes sense to try and get whatever sort of production out of the latter before writing him off completely.
Of course, Adel hasn’t been better than anyone else on this list. His averages of 2.3 points and 1.2 rebounds in 14.4 minutes aren’t going to earn him much more playing time with the new acquisitions moving in.
