Cavaliers’ blowout loss to Bulls proves they’re the worst in the NBA
The Cavs need more out of the veterans that are playing.
Cleveland doesn’t have much talent right now and the talent they do have didn’t show up Monday afternoon. Rodney Hood and Alec Burks had forgettable games once again as they combined for just seven points on 2-of-15 shooting. The Cavs don’t have a chance to compete when their two scorers in the starting lineup don’t provide any offense.
The offense has been struggling mightily in the halfcourt the last couple games. They desperately need both of them to step up if they want to be competitive in the slightest. Relying on a 20-year-old rookie to create all the halfcourt offense isn’t going to work.
Collin Sexton is fearless.
Sexton had a solid game on Monday afternoon. He did a good job of attacking the paint and turning those long mid-range shots into three-point attempts. While he only made two of his six attempts from distance, the progress and willingness to modify his game is encouraging.
Sexton had a solid game, but his ability to bounce right back up after getting hit is what will be remembered from this game. Sexton was knocked to the floor multiple times and had to leave the game for a second to stop the bleeding from one of his collisions. None of those things deterred Sexton from playing with the same reckless abandonment.
Sexton has shown to be a fiery competitor in his time in the league. It’d be nice to see him get the chance to play with a little more talent around him.
The Cleveland Cavaliers are back on the road Wednesday when they travel to Boston to take on Kyrie Irving and the Celtics.
