Cleveland Cavaliers’ three positives from loss to Portland Trail Blazers
Rodney Hood continues his run of good play.
Hood has had a frustrating season. The team was hoping that Hood could develop into a consistent second scoring option behind Kevin Love, but that clearly didn’t work out. Love has missed most of the year with a toe injury and Hood hasn’t put up consistent scoring numbers this season.
Hood has however played well since returning from his Achilles soreness. He backed up a strong 18-point performance against the Los Angeles Lakers with 20 points Wednesday in Portland. Hood did most of his damage at the rim as he aggressively attacked off the dribble.
Hood possesses all of the skills necessary to be a good scorer and he’s been showing it off the last couple games. His flashes of good play and expiring contract could make him an attractive asset for a playoff team as the trade deadline approaches.
Hood will get a chance to play against his old team again as the Cavs travel to Utah to take on the Jazz on Friday night.
