Collin Sexton is beginning to look the part.
This may sound subjective, but Collin Sexton is beginning to look the part of an NBA guard which isn’t something you could say at the beginning of the season. Even when Sexton had put up good scoring numbers in November it seemed to mostly come out of the flow of the offense.
A lot of his buckets were coming from mid-range jumpers after pounding the ball into the ground for ten plus seconds. That kind of offense isn’t sustainable and generally not beneficial for the entire team.
Sexton has somewhat adapted his game recently. He’s done a better job of attacking within the flow of the offense for the last handful of games. The rookie is beginning to learn how to use his speed to his advantage. He’s also doing a better job of looking for contact at the rim and putting the ball high off the glass when he gets there.

These aren’t major changes, but they are small steps in the right direction. Sexton still has a long way to go in this league, but the willingness and ability to reportedly take coaching, and as a result, improve mid-season, is encouraging.
