It was a rare victory earned by the Cleveland Cavaliers on Sunday night, as the team picked up their ninth win on the 2018-19 season over the Los Angeles Lakers. But the team didn’t just win on the floor, securing a moral victory as well.

More from Cavs News

The Cleveland Cavaliers were victorious on Sunday night with a 101-95 victory over the Los Angeles Lakers. Cleveland led the Lakers for the majority of the contest, taking a 9-7 lead early on and never looking back. Former Cavalier LeBron James was not able to go for the Lakers, still recovering from a groin injury.

Making the on-court win for the Cavaliers even sweeter was the bet Larry Nance Jr. won with his former Lakers teammate, Josh Hart.

Apparently, the two guys made a bet regarding their favorite NFL teams. Nance Jr., a Cleveland Browns fan, bet Hart, a Washington Redskins fan, that his Browns would have more wins than Washington this past season. Well, both teams finished with seven wins on the season.

Alas, the tiebreaker went to the Cavaliers forward, as the Browns held a record of 7-8-1 due to their tie with the Pittsburgh Steelers in Week One of the regular season. Hart’s Washington squad went 7-9, which proves to be a lesser winning percentage than Cleveland’s.

So, what exactly was the bet’s punishment?

Nance Jr. and Hart teased the payout on Twitter hours before the Cavs-Lakers game.

Well, it turns out that Hart would have to don a Cleveland Browns onesie. And the result was glorious.

There haven’t been many wins for this Wine and Gold roster but Sunday provided a couple of joyous moments.

Sometimes, it’s the little things that matter most…like making your opponent wear a onesie before your squad defeats them on the floor on the road.
