Nwaba continues to be a difference maker

David Nwaba‘s stat line for this game looks pretty bad as he finished with 12 points on 5-of-16 shooting with four rebounds. However, that couldn’t be further from the truth as he played a crucial role in the win.

Nwaba has brought the energy and effort every night on the defensive floor. He’s been the Cavs best defender since being inserted into the rotation and has continued that role since he’s become a starter.

Nwaba did a great job of containing Harden when he was on the floor. The reigning MVP put up 40 points on 14-of-30 shooting but was just 3-for-15 from the field with Nwaba guarding him.

His offensive game remains somewhat suspect, but the impact he has on the game cannot be ignored. Cleveland has been a much better team with him on the floor and the results show that. They’ve now won two of their last three games since he’s been inserted into the starting lineup.
