It’s bigger than basketball.

The scene at the Q was much different than it was eight years ago as the fans celebrated the return of their hometown hero with thunderous applause all night while also rooting on their Cavaliers in the process.

LeBron described the difference as personal growth for himself and the city. This time, he was greeted as a hero for his accomplishments on and off the basketball court.  James has grown as a person during these last eight years and so has his relationship with Northeast Ohio. The relationship he has with this area is more than basketball and is one that cannot be broken no mater what the name is on the front of his jersey.

The fans at the Q showed that with his reception Wednesday night.

The night culminated with an emotional tribute video the Cavs put together which highlighted his accomplishments on the basketball court, but more importantly highlighted his work in the community as a role model and philanthropist.

LeBron may be in L.A. now, but his work on and off the basketball court have linked him to this city and franchise forever.
