The Cleveland Cavaliers were embarrassed during their home opener as the Atlanta Hawks ran away with this one 133-111.

The Cleveland Cavaliers got off to a fast start again like they have to every game this season as they jumped out to a 15-point lead early. However, just like every other time though, the wheels fell off in the second quarter. This time when they fell off the Cavs weren’t able to regain their dignity. Atlanta put up 40 points or more in the second and fourth quarters to run away with this one comfortably.

Trae Young torched the Cavs to the tune of 35 points and 11 assists in just his third career game. The Hawks also tried to get revenge on the 2016 Cavs by cashing in on a franchise record 22 made three-point shots.

The Cavs’ young guys had their worst outing of the season. Cedi Osman had a rough game as he finished with just 12 points on five-of-15 shooting from the field with five turnovers. Collin Sexton struggled on both ends of the floor finishing with four points on two-of-11 shooting and had two turnovers.

Jordan Clarkson and Rodney Hood were solid, but those were the only bright spots for Cleveland. Clarkson continued his hot shooting start by pouring in 19 points on seven-of-12 shooting. Hood showed flashes of brilliance as he exploded for 13 points on six-of-seven shooting in the third quarter.

Kevin Love got off to a good start, but he once again struggled with his efficiency, as he finished with 16 points and 17 rebounds on just six-of-19 shooting.

Here’s what we learned from the disappointing loss.
