The Cleveland Cavaliers recently released their new ad tagline for this upcoming season, and rookie point guard Collin Sexton epitomizes it.

The Cleveland Cavaliers are going into a fresh new season with a number of players in expanded roles. Their new tagline for this season is “Be The Fight,” (h/t Jen Steer of Fox 8 Cleveland) and that is perfect for the city of Cleveland and Collin Sexton, in particular.

Cavaliers Chief Marketing Officer Tracy Marek had this reasoning for that being the tagline for this season, per the aforementioned Steer.

"“‘BE THE FIGHT’ reflects what Cleveland knows, feels and embraces. The creative elements evoke a core sense of pride and hard work in The Land, along with the communal spirit that bands us all together as a new era of Cavaliers basketball tips off,” said Tracy Marek, Cavaliers Chief Marketing Officer in a news release on Friday. “It is a declaration of focus, attitude and unity that also boldly punctuates the team’s long-standing DNA statement ‘All For One. One for All.'”"

Cleveland’s eighth overall pick in the 2018 NBA Draft is a player that is featured in the Cavs’ video revealing the new ad, and that’s almost too good. With his grit, intensity on both ends, blazing speed and overall determination, he’s an ideal fit for this tagline.

As we’ve often noted at KJG, Sexton is a player that is going to play as hard as anybody, and he’ll attack the paint as a driver with reckless abandon.

It’s not as though the rest of the Cleveland Cavaliers don’t play hard, Sexton is just the player that comes to mind right off the bat with his style and how he’s often been a bit of an underdog.

For the Cavs this season and going into the near future, Sexton’s toughness and willingness to be involved in the grit and grind as a point guard is what Cleveland is all about.

Veteran George Hill, who will be starting over the rookie at the point, at least to begin the season, echoed that sentiment about the rookie’s determination and competitiveness in a recent interview with Cleveland.com’s Chris Fedor.

"“Has the fire in his eyes,” Hill said. “I think he’s a mature 19. He’s not one of those that’s joking around all the time, that doesn’t take the game serious or just happy to be here. He’s working, he’s strong-minded and he’s trying to be here, not just to be in a position to play, but to be something great.”"

The Sexton-Hill relationship is going to be crucial for how this Cleveland season shapes out, and that kind of positive impression for Hill, a veteran leader on the Cavs, is a great sign of what’s to come in the near future for Sexton.

Rest assured, Sexton will be the fight this year. He’ll be picking guards up the whole length of the floor, and constantly attacking his counterparts on the other end. This guy takes on all challenges head-on, and just like Cedi Osman, he’s a potential franchise player that’ll do anything to win.

His roll-sleeves-up and always-clocked-in attitude epitomizes The Land in every way. Sexton is all will and all heart, and fans will adopt him just like they have with Cleveland Browns rookie quarterback Baker Mayfield.
