Recently on a podcast with Brandon ‘Scoop B’ Robinson, former NBA player Rashad McCants said that he believes LeBron James will run against Kanye West in the 2020 Presidential Election.

LeBron James is the best basketball player in the world; we all know that as fans of the Cleveland Cavaliers. He’s also established that he’s more than an athlete, and Kanye West has been an outspoken artist for a number of years.

James founded the “I Promise School” in nearby Akron a few months ago, and based on current projections, his foundation will be committing $41.8 million so 1,100 kids can go to college at the University of Akron, per ESPN’s Brian Windhorst.

James has also been outspoken against President Donald Trump, and was an advocate of Hillary Clinton during the 2016 presidential election.

Rashad McCants, who plays in the Big 3 league, speculates that West will be his counterpart due to West’s comments directed toward James this week. West said James should have stayed in Cleveland instead of going out west to the Los Angeles Lakers in an interview with TMZ Sports.

Those are the reasons why Rashad McCants said to Brandon ‘Scoop B’ Robinson on the Scoop B Radio podcast (in the Part 2 of their interview) that he sees James and West competing in the 2020 Presidential election.

McCants said in LeBron’s case, it’s also about the Golden State Warriors.

This McCants’ quote was transcribed by Robinson via Basketball Society.

"“He’s gonna run against Kanye. I mean if I’m LeBron James, I already know that if I beat the Warriors, I can run for President. If he doesn’t beat the Warriors, he’s gotta run and hide for a few years. So this is the pressure he’s under, but I feel that if he can beat the Warriors, he can be President and he won’t have to play basketball ever again. He can just arrest all the Warrior players. I think that’s what he’s going for. He’s going to beat the Warriors and then have them all arrested after he’s President.”"

Now that is some kind of proclamation, I’ll tell ya. I’m not too sure if that means much, but McCants does sort of have a point here.

Nobody is likely going to beat the Warriors for the foreseeable future, if they keep Kevin Durant (who will likely be an unrestricted free agent next summer) around that is. Regardless, LeBron James is a heck of a player, and who knows?

Maybe he can become the POTUS, too. Regardless, I’m not sure the potential leader of the United States should be budgeting that much time to get involved with a team continuously winning a basketball league.

Yeah, arresting them, alright then.

It’s a bold strategy, Cotton. Let’s see if it pays off for ’em.
