Ben Golliver has covered the league for over ten years and currently writes for Sports Illustrated. He was gracious enough to join the King James Gossip podcast to talk all things Cleveland Cavaliers.

In this episode, Doug and Ben cover the Cavaliers win projection, if the Kevin Love extension was a good idea, what he thinks about Rodney Hood and much more.

The episode runs for roughly 40 minutes. Here’s a rundown of the show:

  • Ben recently wrote a column discussing the best teams to be on regarding their projected over/unders. The Cavs did not make this list. Does he really think they have a chance at not winning over 30 games?
  • Next, Ben and Doug discuss Kevin Love’s recent extension.
    • Was it a good decision, or simply a play for the middle?
  • Doug asks Ben if he thinks Rodney Hood will be good this year or if he’s simply a lost cause.
  • Then, Doug wonders if Head Coach Tyronn Lue is a good coach. He and Ben discuss.
  • Next, Doug asks if there are any young Cavs – besides Collin Sexton – that Ben’s excited about on the roster.
  • Doug also brings up the Kyrie Irving trade from last season and asks Ben if he has any takes on it in retrospect.
  • Lastly, they finish by talking about how new Cavs GM Kolby Altman is doing in his new role.
  • King James Gossip is very happy and appreciative to have had SI’s Ben Golliver make an appearance.
