The Cleveland Cavaliers should be active in the trade market and engage the Phoenix Suns in a trade involving veteran point guard George Hill.

The Phoenix Suns are clearly in the market for the point guard after trading for De’Anthony Melton, and they also should target the Cleveland Cavaliers George Hill.

Clearly, the Suns are aiming at maximizing the impact of Deandre Ayton while aiming to make a postseason run this upcoming season. They proved so by trading for De’Anthony Melton and Ryan Anderson.

For Houston, the trade was perfect. They rid themselves of Anderson’s horrific contract while returning two capable players, Marquesse Chriss and Brandon Knight.

The Rockets possess so much elite shooting that playing Chriss on the second unit shouldn’t create too many issues. Additionally, they can allow Knight to command the second unit. Many forget that just a few seasons ago Knight neared 20 points per game. While no longer elite, Knight should still be able to score in an array of ways.

For Phoenix, Anderson will help maximize the court spacing for De’Anthony Melton and Deandre Ayton. Creating such a young roster in such a short timeframe, Phoenix was bound to have to pay either Chriss or Dragan Bender this upcoming offseason, and they chose to maintain the latter.

However, now, the Suns are left with two rookie point guards, not a good combo to start the season. They’ve also reportedly been on the market for a young, star point guard, and while Hill doesn’t fit that mold, he could step in and give Melton/Okobo time to develop.

That said, here’s a package that would work for both sides.
