On the heels of the last one, we talk about all things Cleveland Cavaliers including trade options, signings and more.

In this episode, we discuss a potential Hassan Whiteside deal posited by Bleacher Report’s Greg Swartz, if Cleveland Cavaliers star Kevin Love is a top-five player in the East, the NBA schedule, and the recent acquisition of Isaiah Taylor.

Previous listeners will also rejoice at the drastically improved sound quality.

Episode 18 is about 45 minutes long, as we debate the latest news and review our previous claim that Kevin Love is a top 5-8 player in the East from the last podcast.

Here’s a rundown of the show:

  • First, we talk about the offensive and defensive potential of adding Hassan Whiteside to this Cavs team. What would a pairing of him and Love look like? How many wins does Whiteside add? Is he worth giving up Tristan Thompson and Kyle Korver? We debate whether or not Cleveland should truly pursue this trade.
    • Check out Quenton Albertie’s article on the Whiteside idea here.
  • Then, we move onto discuss Kevin Love’s place in the East. Does he rank in the top 5? Top 10? The placement is important – talent wins in the NBA, after all.
    • Doug and Joe also debate whether or not Love is better than Piston Blake Griffin. (Spoiler: Doug thinks Joe’s opinion is crazy.)
  • Following that, we talk about the newly released NBA schedule. We talk about the Christmas Day games, the Cavs getting snubbed National TV time, and some of Cleveland’s most important sections of the year.
  • Lastly, we touch on the newest signing of point guard Isaiah Taylor. How does he fit in this Cavs roster? Will he see playing time?
