Tristan Thompson could be odd man out in Cavs center rotation

What if Zizic came off the bench?
As everything stands now, I think Zizic could be a perfect backup center, able to score and rebound against the less talented competition.
He would alleviate some of the offensive pressure that a bench unit with players like Jordan Clarkson and Collin Sexton may face. If Zizic could be a reliable threat, a defense may collapse and there would be an opportunity for him to look for passes to sharpshooters like J.R. Smith or Kyle Korver.
Of course, Zizic probably only takes minutes from Thompson in this role if Nance takes over the starting position. Nance likely gets the upper hand in a competition with Zizic because of the versatility and better playmaking he would offer in a second unit.
But in a competition with Thompson, Zizic could prove to be just as good of a rebounder against non-starting centers as Thompson and have a touchdown low that is absent from Thompson’s game.
Against bench guards and wings, Thompson’s ability to switch is less important because these players are less explosive creators. Zizic’s slower feet could be hidden while his reliable offensive contributions shined.
