The Cleveland Cavaliers have had a wild offseason.
With LeBron’s departure and Sexton’s summer league, the Cleveland Cavaliers have seemingly seen it all. However, to maintain true relevance going into the 2018-2019 season, they need to do a bit more.
Before getting into what they need to do, let’s take a look at what they have done.
The Cavaliers offseason kicked off June 9, the day Golden State Warriors completed their NBA Finals sweep. That day was most likely also the day that King James knew he would eventually part with his hometown team for the second time.
This time, the Akron-native received little backlash. Fans weren’t burning his jersey, they weren’t trashing his name. As a matter of fact, it was the Lakers fans that were most immature about receiving the King and all his glory, tarnishing a phenomenal mural of him in downtown LA.
For Cleveland, their offseason heated up on draft day. They took Collin Sexton with the No. 8 overall pick, luckily opting not to select Michael Porter Jr. who underwent yet another back surgery.
To sum the rest up, Sexton tore up the summer league, finishing on the league’s all-first team. Additionally, the team signed former Cavalier Channing Frye, lost both James and Jeff Green, and has remained quiet about talks with Rodney Hood.
And that now leads us to what the Cleveland Cavaliers must do next.
Here are four moves the Cavaliers need to make before the offseason ends.
