Cleveland Cavaliers: Proposing three trades involving sharpshooter Kyle Korver
The ideal trade package
The Cleveland Cavaliers shouldn’t be expecting a first-round pick like they bought Korver for a few seasons ago. He’s older, on a $6 million contract, and could lose his productivity with an injury at any moment.
However, they should still know his contributions would make a valuable asset to any team in the NBA.
Korver’s market is limited though.
Being 37, he’ll really be looking to join only a contender, and a contender should be the only team in need of Korver’s immediate contributions. That said, I think a young player that doesn’t have a high ceiling along with a second-round pick or multiple second-round picks is a fair deal for Korver.
OKC, Philly, LA, and maybe even Houston would be the only teams looking to add Korver, and with picks that in a few years might still be quite low, it’d be worth their while selling their picks for a useful sniper.
At this point, Korver might suit up as a Cavalier for the first game of the 2018-2019 season, but it’s unlikely that by the end of February he’s still a Cav.
