10 Off-season moves the Cleveland Cavaliers must make if LeBron James leaves
By Tony Pesta
Player 9-10: Kyle Korver, Jeff Green
Kyle Korver is still one of the best three-point shooters in the league.
Last season, Korver shot 43% from the three-point line. Korver bailed the Cavaliers out numerous times throughout the season with his three-point bombs. Most notably, in the first round of the NBA Playoffs versus the Indiana Pacers.
Because of this, Korver still has value in the league. More importantly, he has value to this team. Korver could still play an important role for the Cavaliers. At 37 years of age, Korver has a ton of NBA knowledge and experience. This makes his veteran leadership something the Cavaliers should be eager to maintain.
Jeff Green lacks the shooting ability of Korver but matches him in experience. Green has been through a lot in his nine-season NBA career. From heart surgery to being traded multiple times, Green has more than enough knowledge to go around. Therefore, the Cavaliers should be content with keeping him on the roster.
The best way to rebuild a team is to have the perfect balance of young talent and veteran leadership. These two factors bounce off each other to form the foundation of a rising team. Neither Green nor Korver will benefit the Cavaliers too much on the court.
