Player 1: Kevin Love

The first player that should be on the move is Kevin Love. Sure, keeping Love on the roster would ensure that the team remains somewhat relevant. I think every Cleveland fan would appreciate it if the team was still competitive.

However, Love will never take this team to the high heights that the fans are desperate for. In other words, this team can’t win a championship with just Love. This means it’s time to part ways with the all-star power forward.

Love should be able to be packaged into a trade that would bring a number of assets back to Cleveland. The Cavaliers should primarily target teams with an abundance of young prospects and or draft picks. These are the teams that would be able to benefit Cleveland the most.

The team must look to rebuild. It starts with setting down a foundation. A Love-trade would be the centerpiece of the teams rebuild.

Trading Love would officially mark the end of an era. The Cleveland Cavaliers are fresh off the greatest four-year stretch in franchise history. Four straight NBA Finals appearances. The first major league championship in over 50 years.

This has truly been an era to remember for all of Cleveland. Unfortunately, all good things must come to an end. Trading away Love will be the closing of one chapter and the beginning of the next.
