2018 NBA Free Agency: Ranking the Cleveland Cavaliers top 25 options
No. 9: Trevor Ariza
I put Trevor Ariza on this list out of pure luck. The small forward that was one of the main sharpshooting threats on the Houston Rockets.
The 3-and-D specialist has slowly been developing an all-around excellent offensive game. Outside of their horrific stretch of shooting in the Western Conference Finals, Ariza and the Rockets had been the league’s best three-point shooting team. Ariza made a career-high 2.5 threes per game.
His shooting and defensive combine to make him the perfect non-playmaking teammate for LeBron James.
The problem….. he wants $60 million, at least that was the report earlier in the offseason. However, Bleacher Report recently denied that report. At 33, Ariza won’t be getting a five-year contract anywhere so cross that off the list.
If he wants to continue, the Cavs would 100% give him the MLE. Then again, some team is bound to pay him much more and if he’s even reportedly asking for a price then the MLE might not be an option for him.
