CJ McCollum

CJ McCollum is the perfect target for the Cleveland Cavaliers. He’s skilled enough to create a formidable Big 3, but he’s almost not valuable enough to force Cleveland into trading Portland both Love and the No. 8 overall pick like teammate Damian Lillard is.

McCollum averaged 21.4 points per game on 44.3% from the field including 2.3 made threes per game. Overall, McCollum is an absolute unit on the offensive end. He a threat from deep, has a terrific first step and is easily one of the quickest players on the court at all times.

At 6-foot-3, his defense might be a bit of an issue for the Cavaliers team that already struggles on that end of the court. However, McCollum’s lacking defensive size could be made up for by George Hill‘s lengthy wingspan, which should clog passing lanes.

Winning the 2016 Most Improved Player award, McCollum was a prime example of how to properly develop through college and then in the league.

Just like Lillard, McCollum has been at the forefront of trade rumors because of the disappointment the Blazers were both this past season and also in the last few seasons.

While no trade engagement has been rumored, it’s key to note that both sides should be open to examining a potential deal.
