Kawhi Leonard

While a deal with Paul George might just command their No. 8 overall draft pick and a few younger players in return, a deal for Kawhi Leonard would force Cleveland to throw all their chips in. We’re talking Love, Osman, Hood, some picks, and probably some more picks.

Is it worth it?

A deal for Kawhi would leave the Cavaliers begging for aging yet non-washed up veterans to join their team for the veteran’s minimum.

The 2x Defensive Player of the Year and the 2016 MVP runner-up has a broken relationship with his current team, the San Antonio Spurs. While they certainly won’t deal him for less than market value, the Cavs just like a few other teams should go all in for a player of Leonard’s caliber.

It’s not every offseason that a player like Leonard becomes available due to an irreparable relationship with his team.  The Cavaliers need to make sure they do the exact opposite of what they did last season and buy in a broken relationship. They must do all they can to bring Leonard to Cleveland.

However, at what point, would they be giving away too much? That’s a question that must be answered in the next few days.
