Trade #5

Cleveland Cavaliers receive: Andre Drummond, Reggie Bullock, Ish Smith

Detroit Pistons receive: Jordan Clarkson, Cedi Osman, Tristan Thompson, 8th pick

With many players traveling one way or another, this trade could grease the wheels for both teams.

Starting with the Cleveland Cavaliers, by acquiring a top center in Andre Drummond, you are getting a pretty serious bait for LeBron James to sign with the squad once again. Andre has proved to be one of the best centers in the league, coming from a season in which he averaged 15 points per game along with 16 rebounds per game, leading the league in that statistical category.

In addition to Andre, the Cleveland Cavaliers acquire Ish Smith and Reggie Bullock. Ish is a great back up point guard who knows his role and silently works harder than most role players. Reggie Bullock is another great role player to have, with the chance of evolving to a starter for that shooting guard spot, held by a declining J.R. Smith.

When it comes to the Pistons, via this trade they receive young, talented players that can even be starters for Detroit. Most importantly, though, they get the 8th pick which they can use to finally start rebuilding.

It should be noted that Detroit doesn’t have a first-round selection in this NBA Draft, having traded their pick to the Clippers during the Blake Griffin trade.
