Trade #2:

Cavaliers receive: Goran Dragic, James Johnson

Heat receive: Kevin Love, Jordan Clarkson

The main theme in most of these trade proposals will be finding an offensive weapon to match with LeBron James. In this trade, Goran Dragic will be the man to provide the Cavaliers with some additional offense.

Dragic scored 17.3 points per game and was named an NBA All-star. Dragic is an experienced point guard who knows how to run the offense. He uses his blazing speed to control the tempo of the game and put pressure on opposing defenses.

James Johnson will be the defensive side of this trade. Standing at 6’9″, Johnson is a force to be reckoned with. Johnson is an athletic big who will bring versatility to the Cavalier defense. As for offense, he is a capable scorer. Last season, he averaged 10.8 points per game on 50% shooting.

Unlike the Portland trade, this one is much more even for both teams. Miami is receiving a five-time all-star in Kevin Love. Love will be the focal point of the offense and will likely return to dominance.

Meanwhile, Clarkson will be much more comfortable returning to his role as an upcoming star on a below average team. Clarkson never appeared ready to contend for a championship and having a few years to learn under Dwyane Wade’s wing may be best for him.
