Cleveland Cavaliers: What we learned vs. Golden State Warriors Game 1
Here’s what we learned from the Cleveland Cavaliers loss to the Golden State Warriors in Game 1 of the 2018 NBA Finals.
The Cleveland Cavaliers lost in heartbreaking fashion in Game 1. The Cavs had a chance to win the game multiple times, but they couldn’t get any breaks go their way down the stretch as they dropped Game 1 to the Golden State Warriors 124-114 in overtime.
This was one of the most controversial couple minutes in NBA history as a Kevin Durant charge was changed to a blocking foul that should have never been reviewed. Besides that, George Hill missed what could have been a game winning free throw and JR Smith inexplicably failed to call a timeout after getting what could’ve been a game saving rebound.
What gets lost in all of this is arguably one of the best personal performances we’ve ever seen in the NBA Finals. LeBron James was unbelievable as he finished with 51 points on 59.4% shooting while contributing eight rebounds and eight assists.
The Cavs had a chance to win this one, but the series is far from over. Here’s what we learned from the Game 1 loss.
