At 6-foot-5, 190 pounds, Bruce Brown is one of the more interesting late-first-round prospects.

He’s not a phenomenal shooting nor is he a consistent threat from outside. But, Brown is a jack of all traits. He’s athletic and possesses great instincts. Brown averaged 7.1 rebounds and 4.0 assists per game his sophomore season at the University of Miami.

Brown has good size, speed, and most important of all potential. Playing on a very good Hurricane’s team in the NCAA’s most competitive conference, Brown averaged 11.4 points per game without being a dynamic outside shooter.

At this point, unless Portland is looking for a center to back up Nurkic, Brown is the ideal selection with this pick.
