2018 NBA Mock Draft 2.0: Cleveland Cavaliers select Wendell Carter Jr.
Where do you really start with Trae Young?
He was an absolute phenom at the University of Oklahoma. Young’s only weaknesses are his defense and size which both are an afterthought when thinking about Young’s sky-high ceiling.
During his freshman year, Young scored 27.4 points per game and dished out 8.7 assists per game, a volume combination the NCAA had never before seen. His leadership and vision are two other intangible assets that Young possess.
Young is the clear No. 2 point guard in this draft class, and his Stephen Curry-like comparisons might not be too far off. That said, Young might easily be the draft’s best player, and with the Magic trading away their point guard of the future Elfrid Payton last season, the spot is Young’s to take.
With the No. 6 pick, Trae Young is an absolute steal.
