Here’s what we learned from the Cleveland Cavaliers loss to the Boston Celtics in Game 5 of the Eastern Conference Finals.
The Cleveland Cavaliers didn’t have it on Wednesday night as they dropped Game 5 to the Boston Celtics 96-83. The Cavs’ backs are officially against the wall as they face a do-or-die game Friday night in Cleveland.
This was a sloppy game by both teams. The Celtics played bad shooting just 36.5% from the field. Fortunately for them, the Cavs played worse. Cleveland couldn’t buy a three going nine of 34 (26.5 percent) from distance while turning the ball over 15 times. Those two factors allowed the Celtics to outscore the Cavs 18-2 in transition and ultimately decided the game.
.@KingJames's NBA Finals streak may be in jeopardy, but it's not something he's thinking about. His sole focus: the @cavs being as good as they can be in Game 6.#WhateverItTakes pic.twitter.com/OyMoSdESgI

LeBron James didn’t have his best stuff in Game 5. He looked tired at times and couldn’t will his team over the hump. James finished the game with 26 points on 50.0 percent shooting from the field, but the Cavs needed more than that to steal this road game. Especially since he finished the night with more turnovers (6) than assists (5).
While the Cavs looked awful, the Celtics allowed them to hang around throughout the evening. The game was there for the taking, but the Cavs couldn’t buy a shot when they needed it.
