The Cleveland Cavaliers are now trailing the Boston Celtics 2-0 in the Eastern Conference Finals.
The Eastern Conference Finals have taken a surprising turn of events. After coming into the series as heavy favorites, the Cleveland Cavaliers are feeling shell-shocked.
The series started off with a wire to wire win for the Boston Celtics. The Celtics won game one by 25 points and held a large lead for the entire game. LeBron James played poorly. James scored only scored only 15 points and shot 33% from the field. As a unit, the Cleveland Cavaliers shot only 36% from the floor during this game.
Game two started off promising. The Cavaliers jumped out to a 10 point lead. James was on another planet, scoring 21 points in the first quarter and looking unstoppable. However, the Cavaliers would quickly lose steam in the second half.
The Boston Celtics simply out hustled them in every aspect of the game and stole the victory away from the Cavs. Despite James recording a 42 points triple-double, Boston won the game by 107-94,

Now, LeBron James and the Cavaliers are in strange territory. It has been 10 years since LeBron James trailed an Eastern Conference Playoff series 2-0. The last time the Cavaliers lost the first two games of an Eastern Playoff series was versus the Boston Celtics in 2008.
The Cavs lost that series in seven games.
However, the Cavaliers shouldn’t be counted out yet. While things may not be looking good for them, they still aren’t in that bad of a situation. Boston won both of their games at home. That’s exactly what the Celtics are supposed to do.
Boston’s home crowd has been one of the best in the league. This has a direct impact on how good the Celtic role players have been playing. It’s evident that these players are feeding off the energy of the crowd.
Now, Cleveland has to take care of business in games three and four on their home floor. It’s Cleveland’s turn to get their role players going and increase their confidence. If the Cavaliers win these next two games, the outlook of this series will drastically change.
This is why I don’t think it’s time to panic just yet. The series isn’t in danger until one team loses a home game. Also, having LeBron James on the team is great for decreasing concern. James has a history of dragging his team through playoff series that they shouldn’t win.
