Opinion: Why I’m not afraid of the Celtics
By Kyle Stuver
3. Lebron James is a Cleveland Cavalier
Sure this a bit of a cop-out. But, it’s also true.
It is worth restating: Lebron has made the NBA Finals 7 times in the row.
I’m not one to bet on this happening again, especially against an undermanned Boston squad. I worry about the Cavs ability to match up with Tatum and Brown on defense, and I worry that Coach Stevens is good enough to erase the talent gap. I worry that George Hill’s back will flare up, and Kevin Love will fade back into a 7th man.
I worry about Tristan Thompson disappearing again Kyle Korver getting forced out of the lineup due to his inability to guard anyone. I worry that Rodney Hood might start a mutiny or that Kendrick Perkins will get arrested for kidnapping Drake (where has he been?)
What I don’t worry about is Lebron continuing his dominance over the Eastern Conference as a whole. By the end of the Toronto series, he was basically just goofing around with those absurd fadeaway jumpers.
Somehow he is at the peak of his powers in year 15, and I don’t see how the Celtics will be able to contain him. Jaylen Brown is a good defender, and Ojeleye is touted as one as well. I’ve just seen this movie before: PJ Tucker, DeMarre Carrol, OG Anunoby, the list goes on and on.
There should be a graveyard for these guys like they do with the Undertaker at Wrestlemania. The “Lebron Stoppers.”
Beyond the wings, the Celtics don’t have a ton of rim protection, so they are going to be in a bind when Lebron does get to the rack. I just don’t see how a Celtics team without their two best players can win four games in this series.

In closing, I do think that this series could be a grind, but I think the moment finally gets to these young C’s, the Cavs have better top-level talent, and Lebron James still rocks the wine and gold. I’ve got the Cavs in 6 or less.
