LeBron James versus the Boston Celtics: A brief history

2016-17 Eastern Conference Finals: Boston Celtics vs Cleveland Cavaliers
Cleveland Cavaliers win series 4-1
The Cleveland Cavaliers began the 2016-17 NBA Playoffs by steamrolling their first two opponents. The Cavaliers swept their first two series and were looking for a third straight sweep against Boston. LeBron James had been having one of the best post-season runs of his career and it looked like nothing would stop him.
The Cavaliers won the first two games of the series by a combined 57 points. Game two was a complete blowout, as the Cavs won by 44. In peculiar fashion, the Cavaliers lost game three due to a game-winning shot by Avery Bradley. James had only 11 points in-game three.
This James’ lowest scoring playoff game in three years. It is reported that James had been suffering from food poisoning, explaining his poor performance.
James would bounce back quickly. James scored 34 points in-game four and 35 points in the series-clinching game. The Cavs won the final two games by a combined 46 points and advanced to the NBA Finals. If you remove the outlier that is game three, James averaged 34.3 points, 6.5 rebounds, and 7 assists on 63.2 percent shooting.
This was the most dominant performance James had ever given throughout an entire series versus the Boston Celtics.
