The Cavaliers drafted Daniel Gibson with the 42nd pick in the 2006 NBA Draft.

Daniel Gibson will always be remembered as the point guard during LeBron James first tenure in Cleveland.

He was never a star, but he did prove to be a solid guard next to a living legend in James. Gibson also had a lengthy career in Cleveland, playing all of his six seasons in the league with the Cavaliers, one reason he’s included in our rankings.

Gibson was the team’s sixth-leading scorer on their best roster record-wise in franchise history. However, that season he averaged just 7.8 points per game. Gibson’s best season was the season after James left but before the Cavaliers drafted Kyrie Irving. In that season, Gibson averaged 11.6 points per game.

Gibson was never a permanent starter for the Cavaliers, but his contributions helped deliver the city not only a winning team but some of the best basketball of all time.
