Throughout their first-round series against Indiana, the Cleveland Cavaliers role players had a tough time getting going. Since then, they’ve come alive.

After their hard-fought round one victory, something suddenly clicked against the Toronto Raptors. In each of the first two games, the Cleveland Cavaliers have had four players not named LeBron James score in double figures.

After every game in the opening round, everyone was clamoring for someone to step up.  It took one superhuman effort after another by LeBron to just win a game.

Toward the end of the Pacers series, players like Kyle Korver, Tristan Thompson and George Hill began to step up.

Whatever was said between round one and round two by the coaching staff must have worked because the role players have found their groove.

In Game 1 it was Korver and Smith, who combined for 39 points and 10-18 shooting from 3-point range. Then last night in Game 2 it was the Kevin Love show, as he poured in 31 points and grabbed 11 rebounds.

Even a player like Jeff Green has left his mark on the first two games in Toronto. Green is scoring 15 points per game while shooting 75 percent.

With the emergence of the supporting cast and LeBron’s continued dominance, Cleveland will be a tough team to contend with moving forward.

That said, let’s get into breaking down how each of these role players has stepped up to lead Cleveland to a 2-0 series lead.
