Cleveland Cavaliers: Top 30 all-time greatest players
By Ben Beecken
Phil Hubbard is one of the longest-tenured Cavaliers players on this list, and solid play over virtually that entire span is enough to get him on to this list.
Hubbard started 249 of his 469 games in a Cavs uniform, including 55 games for the 1984-85 squad that squeaked into the playoffs with a 36-46 record under head coach George Karl, ultimately losing to Boston in the first round of postseason play. Hubbard averaged a career-high 15.8 points and 6.3 rebounds per game that season.
The Cavs didn’t return to the playoffs until the 1987-88 season, and Hubbard only appeared in four more playoff games over the rest of his career in Cleveland.
He was a fixture for a series of mostly bad Cavaliers teams, but his career in Cleveland spanned nearly a decade with solid numbers throughout.
