Lesson No. 2: The rotation is still a mystery.

The Cavs played this game without George Hill and Jose Calderon. Rodney Hood also exited the game in the first half giving the Cavs’ a short bench to close out the game.

While the Cavs are still injured, it’s clear that there isn’t a set rotation yet with just two games left in the season. We still have no idea what the rotation will look like for the playoffs.

Cedi Osman appeared to have fallen out of the rotation until playing 22 of the final 24 minutes on Friday night. Tristan Thompson and Larry Nance Jr., on the other hand, didn’t register a single minute in the second half.

The Cavs have more depth than they’ve had in previous years, but it’s odd to see a rotation vary this much depending on the matchup. Lue has generally gone with eight-man rotations in the past, but that doesn’t seem like it’s going to be the case this year in the playoffs. Or, if it is the case we still don’t know who those eight men are going to be.
