The Cleveland Cavaliers took care of business against the Toronto Raptors once again with a 112-106 victory.

The Cleveland Cavaliers keep winning with Jose Calderon as their starting point guard. Calderon made the most of his opportunity to start again putting up a season-high 19 points on seven of 11 shooting and finished the night as a team-best plus 27.

It was another typical night in the office for LeBron James who finished with 27 points, 10 rebounds, and six assists in the win. Kevin Love also had a solid performance putting up 18 points and 15 rebounds.

The Cavaliers have now won nine of their last ten games and look to be heading into the playoffs on a hot streak. Here’s what we learned from a win against the to team in the East.

Lesson No. 1: The Cavs are now 23-9 in games Jose Calderon starts.

For whatever reason, Cleveland simply doesn’t lose when Calderon is in the starting lineup. Tuesday night was no exception as the Cavs outscored Toronto by 27 points with Calderon on the floor.

It’s hard to put your finger on what exactly Calderon does best that accounts for this record. The simple answer is that he does all the little things right and is one of the smartest players on the court.

Calderon probably won’t get minutes down in the playoffs. George Hill is a much more skilled point guard then him at this point in his career, but it is nice to have a guy like that on the bench that can step up at any given time when his number is called.
