Many things haven’t gone the Cleveland Cavaliers way this season; however, as of late, they’re putting it together and clicking at the right time.
The Cleveland Cavaliers have won nine of their last ten games. Besides a thirteen game win streak earlier in the season, this has been their most impressive stretch of games.
This stretch is a bit different than the one earlier on in the season. For starters, it’s the first sign of sustained success with their retooled Cavalier roster. Secondly, this team is starting to get significant contributions from many of their starters and second unit players.
The Cavs last game proved exactly that too. They played the Toronto Raptors, the Eastern Conference’s best team record-wise. They ended up beating them by six, 112-106. In that game, LeBron James poured in 27 points and secured 10 rebounds. However, this game wasn’t just the LeBron show.
This game was a full team effort, and that’s the exciting part. The entire starting lineup scored over 10 points and four of the five even scored over 15. Not only did each of the starters contribute, but they all managed to drill a three.
Albeit just one game, this has been a pattern for the Cavaliers. With two straight wins over the Toronto Raptors, the Cavaliers have begun to play at the level we all hoped they could get to.
Over the Cavs last ten games, they have the NBA’s best offensive rating. As a team, they’ve been clicking on the offensive end, and while not great, they do rank within the top 20 in defensive rating over that stretch.

Offensively, it’s been James leading the show. He’s 0.4 rebounds away from averaging a triple-double over that stretch. Chipping in over 30 points per game, James is just a few weeks away from his Zero Dark Thirty mode. That said, the entire Eastern Conference might not be ready for the coming LeBron James.
However, the East shouldn’t be worried about just LeBron. Over this stretch of games, both Rodney Hood and Jordan Clarkson have added over 13 points per game. They’ve been instrumental in the Cavs success and that’s what should be scaring the East.
While the Eastern Conference playoffs certainly won’t be smooth sailing, the better rhythm this team can get into as they move into the postseason the better chance they have to easily cruise through the East.
Looking ahead, the Cavaliers have just four games remaining. Two of those games are against the Knicks. Those two should easily be won to end the season.
Leading up to those though, the Cavaliers will have to show some resilience as they play the Washington Wizards along with the Philadelphia 76ers, two teams they could easily face in the East’s first round.

There isn’t much left for this team to prove. They will, however, have to nail down their rotation. While many of the players have been excellent, their rhythm could be thrown off with the return of players like Kyle Korver and George Hill.
