ATLANTA, GA - FEBRUARY 09: Kyle Korver

Cleveland Cavaliers sharpshooter and former all-star Kyle Korver marked his hand with a red X in an attempt to bring awareness to modern-day slavery.

A movement that has recently gone viral is the #EndItMovement. Many athletes such as Jameis Winston, Peyton Manning, and Kyle Korver have shown their support for the anti-slavery movement. Current Cleveland Cavaliers veteran and former Atlanta Hawk star Kyle Korver took to Twitter to show his support, the same platform both other star athletes used to show their support.

Korver posted this picture with his daughter both with big red “X”‘s on their left hand.

Although slavery isn’t quite as widespread or as atrocious as it once was, the fact of the matter is that it still exists, and Korver knows it.

More from King James Gospel

Korver, who unlike LeBron James, hasn’t been one to share his social views, may be starting to turn the corner with this post.

Korver is at the backend of his career, and while his glory days may be behind him, he can still have an impact on the next generation through posts like this. In his post, Korver calls those that agree with him to join the movement, meaning to take to social media and show your support with a red “X.”

With this post, Korver hit the nail on the head. In America, the archaic form of slavery might be behind us (or we would like to think that), but it is still as prominent as ever, just in different ways. I wholeheartedly believe that Korver knows the impact of slavery and has a very firm grasp on the oftentimes untalked about subject. It also should be noted that Korver, who normally doesn’t post about his social stances, posted about this, which indicates his passion for the situation.

Spreading awareness is the No. 1 way to let your voice heard, especially with a platform like Korver’s. Korver is a seemingly quiet and low-maintenance player, so him showing his support for such a sensitive topic is huge.
