NEW YORK, NY – NOVEMBER 13: (NEW YORK DAILIES OUT) Channing Frye /

The Cleveland Cavaliers traded for Channing Frye in the middle of the 2016 season. Channing proved to be the glue of the locker room this year, however, he was also sent to Los Angeles.

Channing Frye was the perfect locker room presence for the struggling Cavs. He essentially saved the team from completely crumbling. Whether Frye was playing valuable minutes or sitting the bench, his value came in many ways.

Due to his limited role, he had to be effective both on and off the court.

On the court, Channing was faced with a limited role this season. While he played just 12.4 minutes per game, he was very efficient, shooting a career-high 49.7% from the field. Even though he averaged just 4.8 points and 2.5 rebounds, he was very consistent, and the Cavs could always rely on him when they needed it.

Channing will always be remembered by Cavs fans in the same light as Richard Jefferson. Someone who could always make a team come together no matter the drama. We wish Channing the best of luck in Los Angeles and wherever else his career takes him.

Must Read: Isaiah Thomas, unlike George Hill, never embraced being Robin

The Cleveland Cavaliers seem reenergized as they demolished Boston in their first game with their four new additions. However, one game won’t be enough to determine just if all these changes were worth it. The Cavs lost some key, veteran players, and while they may never see Cleveland again, we wish them the best of luck wherever their NBA journey takes them.
