NEW YORK, NY – NOVEMBER 13: (NEW YORK DAILIES OUT) Iman Shumpert /

Iman Shumpert was traded to Cleveland in 2015 and at times was very valuable to this franchise. While he showed his value at times, injuries halted a promising career for the Cavs.

Iman Shumpert is one of the more athletic players in all of the association. Not only that but also one of the toughest defenders as well. While his shot has been shaky at times, his defense never is.

Shumpert continues to battle injuries throughout his career and just can’t find a way to stay healthy. This season alone he has had surgery on his meniscus and has suffered through problems with plantar fasciitis in his left foot. Iman has played in just 14 games this year.

In those 14 games, Shumpert has averaged career-lows in points (4.4), assists (1.2), rebounds (2.9), and three-point percentage (26.9%). Shumpert wasn’t finding any minutes in Cleveland, so it was in the team’s and his best interest to move on.

At the age of 27, Shumpert has plenty of gas left in the tank and tons of untapped potential. If he stays healthy, Shumpert could very well have a breakout season in Sacramento either now, or in the future.

Iman was apart of the Cavaliers’ 2015-16 championship run and helped the franchise capture its first ring. We wish him the best of luck in Sacramento, and hopefully, he can stay healthy in order to reach his full potential. Shump, thank you.
