Cleveland Cavaliers: Recapping each trade deadline departure’s career in Cleveland
The return of Jae Crowder
Jae Crowder was a huge get for Cleveland in the offseason. He was brought in to improve the Cavs’ defense, as well as guard multiple positions. His versatility in Boston was something to marvel at, however, in Cleveland, Crowder was hardly a fraction of what he was just a year before.
In Cleveland Crowder proved to be very inconsistent. He averaged just 8.6 points and 3.3 rebounds while shooting just 41.8% from the field and 32.8% from three. Some nights he looked locked in, and other nights it was almost like he was invisible.
It was clear Crowder just wasn’t fitting in and ultimately would be better off somewhere else. Koby Altman ended up trading him to the Utah Jazz.
As we all know, Jae Crowder lost his mother minutes before he was traded from Boston to Cleveland. For that reason, and many more, we wish Jae the best of luck on his new journey. Jae, thank you.
